Può un libro che inizia con la descrizione dell’amore perfetto fra due persone lasciar spazio ad una nuova storia d’amore? È proprio quello che cerca di farci scoprire l’autrice parlando della storia di Jo: una donna ancora innamorata del proprio compagno, morto in Afghanistan, dal quale ha avuto un figlio.
Da queste premesse non ci si aspetterebbe una storia come quella che inizia a vivere con Drew, vicino rumoroso e molesto, conosciuto la prima notte del suo trasloco. Ma così è, il destino ci mette di fronte agli imprevisti.
Il libro è scorrevole e intrigante, l’autrice alterna il dialogo, le descrizioni e lo scambio di sms fra i personaggi, non rendendolo mai noioso. È piacevole da leggere, anche nei punti in cui si percepisce la sofferenza viva e pulsante dei due protagonisti, anche nei momenti di maggior intensità emotiva, non fa rimpiangere di aver scelto questo libro. Devo dire che sorprende la capacità della scrittrice di passare da una scena altamente erotica (e vi assicuro che non uso il termine altamente a sproposito), ad una molto toccante, ad una estremamente divertente o irriverente.
Questa storia mi ha colpita molto e non vedo l’ora di andare avanti con la lettura degli altri due libri!
Lo consiglio vivamente, se vi piace leggere libri in lingua inglese, lo adorerete!

Can a book beginning with the description of perfect love between two people and leave space for a new love story? It is precisely what tries to make us discover the author talking about the story of Jo: a woman still in love with her partner, who died in Afghanistan, from whom he had a son.
From these premises one would not expect a story like the one that begins to live with Drew, near noisy and annoying, that she knows the first night of his move. But this is so, fate confronts us with the unexpected.
The book is flowing and intriguing, the author alternates dialogue, descriptions and the exchange of text messages between the characters, making it never boring. It is pleasant to read, even in the points where you perceive the living and pulsating suffering of the two protagonists, even in moments of greater emotional intensity, does not regret having chosen this book. I must say that it surprises the writer's ability to move from a highly erotic scene (and I assure you that I do not use the term highly inappropriately), to a one very touching, to another extremely funny or irreverent.
This story has struck me a lot and I cannot wait to reading the other two books!
I highly recommend it, if you like reading books in English languages, you will love it!
